LSA Poll of the Week – Columbus Day Weekend Bar Review
The LSA Poll of the week is brought to you by the Boston College Law Students Association.
The LSA is planning a Bar Review on the Friday before Columbus Day Weekend. They are not sure if people will be out of town and not able to attend the Bar Review. Provide the LSA with a little feedback in this poll and they will react accordingly on how many free drink tickets to purchase.
If you have substantive comments that you would like to tell the LSA directly, you can email them with the LSA Mailbag feature here on Eagleionline.

This is total BS.
Seems the Bar Review Committee is using their platform to throw parties for themselves with little regard for the rest of the student body. The poll shows 44% of responding students stating that they’ll be out of town that night (and, come on, it’s the Friday of a holiday weekend – what were they expecting?) but whatever, no worries. Our esteemed Bar Review Committee will all be here, and that’s about as far as they are willing to consider the issue. This is made all the more clear when clicking on the link to polldaddy.com above, where it is clarified that the committee only is gauging how many drink tickets to get, rather than actually deciding whether to have the party that night.
It might not rise to a federal offense, but this kind of self-centered approach to law school event planning has been pervasive since day one of 1L year.
“using their platform…”
“…esteemed bar review chairs..”
“…self-centered approach…”
“…pervasive since day one”
I would know this right-wing talking-point-esque vernacular anywhere…
If this post wasn’t Maguire, I’ll eat my hat.
What was wrong with the Thursday of that week?
Also a more logical question to have polled would be, if you would attend the bar review on a Thursday, would you still attend on a Friday. Some of that 44% could likely be people who would not attend even if it were held Thursday night.
Yeah, it’s Columbus Day weekend, so a few of us will be out of town. Thankfully I’m not – so more drink tickets for me.
Focusing on this 44%? three-l must be trolling here, because even a quantitatively-lacking law student knows that’s not gospel.
The sample size is 16 people. You’re acting like John Zogby conducted this poll.
The same people complaining wouldn’t show up anyway.
So much for “hope” and “change.”
People, the LSA is giving away free alcohol. What’s not to like about that? The idea that they are giving themselves a disproportionate share of free drink tickets is just ridiculous, a scandalous accusation that has no basis in fact. Our esteemed bar review chairs are awesome. They are responsible for more happiness and sex than any other group of people on campus (unless you count Freshmen). They deserve our praise, not our obloquy.

I don’t think Graber would cite sex or say obloquy.
