Asked about the Light the World campaign, and how those funds are going to be used.Basically, the university is trying to raise 1.5 billion in the campaign. Once upon a time, law schools were university cash cows. This is absolutely true; just ask Coquillette some time about BU Law’s relationship with BU. But Garvey is saying that of late (and as a direct consequence of ABA- antitrust issues), the faculty-student ratio in law schools has gone down drastically, while law schools have started to require massive support staffs. Garvey says law schools (including our own) are "net consumers."Basically, once a month Garvey goes and asks the Provost for more of that cool company cash.
And that drew to an abrupt close. There is a class in this room at 1… feels like a rapid escape.Anyone and everyone is invited to an open staff meeting now in Stuart 409. Free starbucks coffee, and copious amounts of baked goods.
If Garvey thinks LGBT initiatives are going to make LGBT students feel comfortable, then he can thank Lambda, CFE and the student body for that…not him or his admissions office.
