Salary Freeze Hits BC Law Faculty
BC Law tuition is going up by 3% next year as mandated by main campus, but that does not mean the school is not looking for areas to save money in-house. According to BC’s Director of Marketing, Nate Kenyon, all faculty members making over $75,000 will have their salaries frozen at current rates. Faculty members making below 75 will receive a small increase around 1.5%.
As regards the tuition increase, Kenyon said, ” I know the University was very conscious of this and did everything possible to keep the increase low, even with the drop in the value of BC’s endowment. They’ve also focused on financial aid as a key part of their long term plan to support students. And we’re very focused on continuing to provide as much support as possible for our Loan Repayment Assistance Program.”

I strongly feel that a lot of the professors are overpaid anyway …. wouldn’t hurt just to freeze their salaries.
With this salary freeze, local Prius dealers and Whole Foods Markets will surely suffer.
