Alok Pinto for LSA President
By Guillaume Buell
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Alok since my first day here at BC Law, and I can think of no better candidate to be the next President of the Law Students Association.
We need an active LSA that tirelessly and relentlessly advocates on our behalf. While I admire the hard work of the LSA, I think that not enough of its time and energy is focused on improving student life. That is what Alok has made the centerpiece of his campaign.
I could list dozens of things that the LSA could do to improve student life on campus. But I won’t impose my list on you. I encourage you to talk to Alok about your ideas and concerns. You’ll see that he is familiar with the “student life” issues that we have at BC Law, and can give you a few ideas about how to fix them. As our LSA President, Alok will make the LSA accessible to all of us as students. He understands the problems we face and will address the issues that the LSA ought to be concerned with.
Take a minute to talk to Alok and you’ll quickly realize how grounded he is, and how attuned he is to the pulse of BC Law. In a place where diversity of opinions and ideas is far more prevalent than most would think, we need an LSA President that can reach out to everyone. Alok Pinto is someone that I’ve had more than my share of disagreements with over public policy and politics. But I want an LSA President who’s going to get things done for our student body, and can reach out to the entire student body – and that person is Alok. The wide spectrum of students who are behind Alok’s candidacy speaks volumes about his ability to bring students together, and demonstrates that he’s someone who will be able to work with – and advocate for – the entire student body as our next LSA President.
I am proud to endorse Alok, I will be proud to vote for him, and I urge all of you to do the same. But if you aren’t sold on him yet, send Alok an email. Talk to the guy. Once you do, you’ll find yourself voting for him too.

Despite my somewhat limited understanding of the ideological differences between Alok and Guillaume, I nevertheless must confess that this endorsement comes as a interesting surprise.
